1- A group of scientist conducted an experiment to determine the effectiveness of Calzo, a drug that is supposedly very effective in causing weight loss. This study was financed by the drug company that makes Calzo. Ten people were tested. All ten of them were required to take the drug three times daily after a meal. According to their findings, the average participant lost 50 pounds in 30 days.
- Identify some practices in this experiment that make the result questionable.
- Modify this experiment in ways that will validate the results. (Design a procedure that will validate this experiment, keeping in mind all the factors that can effect the outcome.)
